ŠKODA MOTABILITY SCHEME IN CARLISLE
Telford ŠKODA, the leading Carlisle dealer in ŠKODA vehicles, is proud to support the Motability Scheme, a nationwide initiative that helps disabled motorists to stay mobile by using their state benefit to lease a new vehicle.
About the scheme
The Motability Scheme enables members to use their government-funded mobility allowance to cover the cost of a three-year lease on a brand new vehicle. Those that qualify can choose from our entire range of ŠKODA models, and the fixed payment also covers insurance, service cover, road tax and roadside assistance from the RAC. Also included are certain adaptations needed by the customer and a 60,000-mile mileage allowance over the length of the lease. If you don’t hold a driving license, or choose not to drive, the scheme allows you to lease a Mobility car and nominate one or two other drivers to drive it on your behalf.
Am I eligible?
There is a range of applicable allowances that qualify for the Motability Scheme, although it’s important to check that you have at least 12 months of payments remaining before popping into the dealership to talk to us. If you have evidence of receiving one of the following government mobility supplements, you should be eligible for a Motability vehicle:
- • Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA)
- • Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of the Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP)
- • War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
- • Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)
There is no upper age limit for applying to the scheme, although there is an upper age limit of 64 if you are applying to receive disability-related benefits for the very first time. Also, if you’re a parent or guardian of a child over three years of age who collects the HRMC DLA, you can order a vehicle for use on their behalf.

What are the benefits?
As a scheme member you get access to a brand new vehicle every three years, with insurance, full breakdown assistance and more. There are no waiting lists or medical assessments, so signing up is easy.
How can I adapt my car?
There are a number of adaptions to help improve your driving experience:
Driving adaptions, including pedal modifications and electric controls.
Stowage adaptions, which include rooftop stowage and car boot hoists.
Access adaptions to help you get in and out of your car, including swivel seats and electric hoists.
How much does it cost on my allowance?
Depending on the car, it will cost either all or part of your mobility allowance. If you wish to upgrade to a more expensive model that costs more than your allowance, you will need to cover that cost in the form of an advance payment.
